PeerBox - Mobile P2P
Will this be the next big thing for cell phones? Peer-to-Peer file swapping on your cell phones? It could be, with the emerging 3G bandwidth, mobile P2P can be something that is plausible. At least when it comes to downloading, not sure how well it would work with uploading. There is already a software out there allowing you to do this. It is Nareos' PeerBox client, available in Java and S60 enabled mobile phones. It is legal to use this service because it detect copyrighted material while browsing open P2P networks and then it will offer you the licensed equivalent for a fee. If it is not copyrighted, you can get it for free. For now, there is only a pay-as-you-go option for this service, but a subscription model is being worked upon. I think more and more people will start to use this because cell phone are ever becoming an important part of people's life and the technology is only getting better.
