Sprint Nextel UbiquiTel
 In the last couple of months there have been talk about Sprint Nextel acquiring Ubiquitel. The FCC finally approved the Sprint Nextel merger with conditions though, the two companies can join their business and networks together so long as they make good on their promise to offer service in the 2.5 GHz spectrum within 4 years.After Spring have clear all government regulations and an agreement with Ubiquitel, which will drop their suit if Sprint agree to not offer Nextel service, or any new service using Nextel's spectrum in Ubiquitel's service area. They are set to go ahead. Today, the acquisition of Sprint affiliate UbiquiTel has closed this week in an all-cash transaction valued at $1.3 billion. In exchange for taking on UbiquiTel's $300-odd million of net debt, Sprint Nextel adds an additional 452,000 direct subscribers and gains territory in 9 states for a total of roughly 8.3 million in population.
