Scalado CAPS

Scalado is a software company out of Sweden that has came out with a technology that drastically reduces the amount of memory needed to handle higher-resolution photos on camera phones. This means that as more and more phones have bigger megapixels on their camera, not that much memory is needed.

Scalado calls their software "CAPS", short for CAmera Phone Solution. According to the company, CAPS uses significantly less memory and process photos a heck of a lot faster than current phones. For example, a current 2MP camera phone needs 12MB of free memory, whereas with CAPS, only 0.44MB is required.

So what does all these means? Well as phones gets slimmer but pack more features into it, they will have to sacrifice something, and that thing can be memory since it will not need much for pictures.
