NEC 500iS
The new version of the NEC L1 clamshell launched in September 2005 was unveiled today and it is called 500iS. Still measuring in at 90.8 x 47.9 x 11.9 mm and 94 g, the tri-band GSM handset now adds EDGE to its line-up of features for improved data transfer speeds, as well as support for the i-mode mobile content service which has been met with limited success in Europe.Although surpassed in features by entrants such as the Motorola RAZR V3x and Samsung's SGH-Z540, the 500iS appears to retain its claim to the throne of thin. Features include an external OLED display and 1.3 Megapixel camera, as well as a 1.9-inch 65K internal colour display with a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels. Also present is Bluetooth and MP3 playback capabilities, as well as USB with PictBridge support for direct-to-printer output. The 500iS isClaiming a battery life of up to 100 hours of standby time and up to 140 minutes of talk time. unlocked cell phones, cellular phone handset, camera phone pics, mobile phone reviewsunlocked cell phones, cellular phone handset, camera phone pics, mobile phone reviews
