Hitachi offer up a press release today confirming that they will offer two Blue-ray camcorders by the end of this month. The only main difference between the DZ-BD70 and the DZ-BD7H is that the latter has a 30GB hard drive along with the ability to write onto Blue-ray discs.
Here are some features and specs:
- 8-cm BD writer
- 30GB disk space (BD7H)
- 5.3 megapixel CMOS sensor
- 2.07 megapixel videos
- 4.32 megapixel stills
- 1 hour of video in 1,920 x 1,080 MPEG-4 AVC/H.264
- HDMI, Firewire, and USB 2.0 ports
Both will be out by end of August 2007 (this month) and the BD70 will cost about $1,350.00 USD, while the BD7H will cost $1,600.00 USD for the extra built-in space.
